New Attendance & Participation Policy 2026–2027
Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, the Ontario Ministry of Education requires attendance and participation to form part of a secondary student’s final course grade.
For CWS online students, attendance and participation will reflect active and consistent engagement in the online course, including participation in required learning activities, communication and interaction with teachers, and demonstrated engagement throughout the course. Excused absences will not negatively affect a student’s mark.

For Grades 9–10, the remaining final mark is 65% coursework and 20% final evaluation. For Grades 11–12, it is 65% coursework and 25% final evaluation.

Proctoring Requirements for Unit Tests and Final Exams 
Effective immediately, all designated Unit Tests and Final Exams must be completed under approved proctoring. Any assessment requiring proctoring that is completed without supervision will not be accepted, and the student will be required to complete a new evaluation in a proctored setting.

Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF)

• September 26-27, from 9:30 am to 5 pm, daily
• Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building
• Ontario’s universities gathered in 1 place
• Free, annual event where attendees can talk directly with university representatives at their booths and attend presentations
• Quiet spaces and a multi-faith space will be available

Ontario Universities’ Regional Fairs

• Fair-style events hosted across Ontario
• Students can speak directly with Ontario university representatives and research their options
• Events run from September to October. Full event schedule and details are available on the OUEvents website
